Many of the Labour Relations problems encountered by your organization could be minimized or avoided if Managers have a broader understanding of their rights and responsibilities. This one day workshop is aimed at any manager who would benefit from an improved knowledge of the following topics:
- Management Rights
- Progressive Discipline
- What is it ?
- When must you use it and when do you not?
- How do you write a letter of discipline?
- The Grievance and Arbitration Process?
- What do you do in a grievance meeting?
- What happens at an arbitration hearing and what should you be doing to prepare if you have to attend?
- Dealing with common Labour Relations problems such as:
- Insubordination
- Drinking/Drugs at the work place
- Job Posting Grievances
- Innocent absenteeism
This workshop is being presented by Pearlman Iddon Associates, an Ottawa based consulting firm specialising in labour relations matters for management. Mr. Pearlman has been teaching this program since 1985 in both public and in-house sessions. It has been part of the OHA Supervisor Certificate (OHA Series 1) and the program is a pre-requisite for managerial/supervisory training for the City of Windsor. It is an accepted credit for the Council of Health Care Executives and the Massage Therapists Association and can be submitted to other professional organisations for credit, subject to their review.

The cost of this one day workshop is $359.00 plus GST per person. If payment is received on or before the seminar date, the cost will be $339.00 plus GST per person. Coffee, lunch, and all materials are included in this price
